Earth Day 2013

Earth Day is the largest environmental event worldwide. It is celebrated every April 22 and more than 6          million Canadians participate in events and projects to benefit local environmental issues.

What can we do to celebrate Earth Day?

Earth Day provides opportunities for positive actions and change. The truth is we need energy to live, to        light our homes and heat our water. There are simple things you can do to conserve energy every day.

     Small Actions, Big Impact.

Switch to energy efficient light bulbs, walk more, use less water , buy local produce. These little
actions add up and can make a big impact. Here at National, we help homeowners reduce their carbon          footprint by offering no charge equipment upgrades, replacing your old home equipment with new energy        efficient models that use up to 20% less energy. Learn more on our website.

Check out Earth Day Canada's list of events in Ontario to learn more about what you can do.

Green Spring Cleaning

Keep your Spring Cleaning green with these tips!

  • Throw open the windows and breathe in fresh scents. Toss those spray air fresheners and if necessary, try some natural fresheners like baking soda.

  • Use spring-cleaning season as a reminder to go paperless. Opt out of as many bulk mail, catalogs and phone books as you can and subscribe to paperless billing. Here at National, our green billing option saves over 1 million sheets of paper a year! We’re proud to do our part in reducing paper waste.

  • Clean up your dirty laundry habits. When the weather is nice, air-dry your clothes on a clothesline, in your backyard or on an indoor stand.

  • Reuse- as you de-clutter and clean, look for alternate uses for your old products. Old clothes and towels can become rags for dusting and cleaning. Old newspapers are great for streak free cleaning of your windows.

All of us at National Home Services are wishing you a clean and green Spring!
